If you look at 19 years this century, there have been only two rookies to make the All-Star team (Blake Griffin in 2011 and Yao Ming in 2003). In the prior 19 years, there were twelve rookies who made the All-Star team.

As talented as Zion is, he's still really young and just hasn't had the development that rookies used to have when they all had to play four years of college ball.

I think there's a good chance that Zion can be an All-Star selection in his second season. After that, I think it depends on how much better he gets as a shooter. I don't think it's a given that he becomes a top-ten player in the league, though I certainly hope so.

Luka had a historically great rookie year because he was polished coming in. Hard to expect Zion to replicate those kind of counting stats. However he is way ahead defensively. He’s going to impact the game a lot.
