Grew up in Avondale, but I’ve been gone since ‘89. Refresh my memory please. Are there any statues that need to be taken down around Ehret that could have prevented this?

The area around Ehret is actually pretty decent. Marrero past Ames Blvd and Kennedy Heights in Waggaman might be on par with the worst parts of New Orleans in terms of shittiness/crime though.
