quote:Yes.
Happy???
quote:Yes, to you. Those women are happy so why should it matter if their lives are boring to you?
Their lives sound boring as frick to me.
quote:You're quite ignorant, aren't you?
Maybe weekly Sunday school and a monthly church dinner to look forward to with the occasional romantic Denny's date night sprinkled in here and there.
quote:Why do you assume the husband's are "tools"? Wouldn't having "tools" for husbands make them less happy overall? And if they were "tools", wouldn't that lead to the conclusion that the faith of the women were a significant contributing factor to their happiness in spite of the circumstances they find themselves?
I guess having a tool husband who is out of her hair for a cumulative 5 - 6 months out of the year for whatever "season" it happens to be would a bonus maybe.
quote:Uh yeah, it is, at least in some sense. People experience things differently and have different reactions to their circumstances. The Bible teaches people to put their trust in God, not themselves or other people. Doing so will lead to greater happiness as God doesn't "let us down" like we sinners do to each other all the time.
Perhaps happy or happiest is all relative.
For Christians, a Christ-centered relationship should result in general happiness as both people in the relationship are working together towards the same goal, which is hopefully God's glory.
quote:Good for you. It sounds like you and your wife share a similar worldview which allows you both to tackle life's problems in the same way.
My wife and I haven't attended church in decades. We love our son and our extended family and we're going on 20 years of a happy swinging lifestyle together.
A lot of people don't marry someone who shares the same worldview as themselves, which leads to major conflicts that ultimately are too difficult to bear and which lead to a split.
quote:Again, good for you. That sounds like the typical adult human experience.
We get up and go to work and pay our bills just like every one else and then we have fun together every weekend.
quote:Why do you assume everything you consider "fun" is fun for everyone else in the world. And why are you so judgmental about what others consider fun? Why do you care and what standard do you adhere to in order to judge anyone or anything as right or wrong, better or worse?
Religious conservatives wouldn't know fun if it bit them in the arse
