I hope you aren’t talking about the Florida section of the Emerald coast in this comment because if you are you are beyond stupid. I have been to beaches and coastal areas all over the country and in the Caribbean and from Pensacola to Destin is still my favorite

That section is nice, but I still think the beaches in the BVI's are nicer. Mainly because of the water.

The answer to you question is in the title of the thread.

The beaches at Destin are too crowded for my taste (I am spoiled after living in the Caribbean with a semi-private beach in front of my apartment complex and a topless beach full of european women only a 4 minute walk away), but the other aspects of a Destin vacation offset the crowds. Gulf Shores and Orange Beach have the same overcrowding problem as Destin and it does not have the same quality of other aspects to offset it.
