I don’t think the main issue is declaring Zion the consensus #1. It is more of a product of how ESPN acted like no one else existed other than Zion.

No one would have had an issue if ESPN referred to Zion as the #1 pick but also mentioned other guys. There were multiple prospects in attendance. So given the fact that all they talked about is Zion, I think the point stands at how incredibly unprofessional and ridiculous it was that they gave Zion that kind of treatment when he hasn’t even been picked first yet.

That was brutally bad, and hard to watch. The only mention of other players was done in a negative light. As in telling RJ he used to be the #1 guy. Or asking Zion who is better between RJ and Ja. Just awful. All those prospects were basically invited to see ESPN trash them for not being Zion.
