Back up QBs don’t get playing time of any significance whatsoever unless there’s a problem with your starter. It was that way in 2017 as well. What happen in 2011 is no different than what happens for LSU almost every season and what happens across the landscape of college football. imo

when you are beating teams by 30 and 40 points your backup, that is going to be the starter the following year, gets more than 11 passing attempts

normally, yes.

HOWEVER, Miles couldn't ever pick between Lee and Jefferson. Jefferson's poor decision making (off the field, although it wasn't great on the field) resulted in Lee being thrust into the starting role. People (not directing this at you, just ranting)seem to want to believe that Lee was replaced in the Bama game, which, although he was taken out, this downplays the fact that Jefferson was cleared by the DA and saw action prior to the Bama game.

It seemed pretty clear to anyone with any sense of intuition that Miles was trying to get Jefferson some game time so he could get the guy who was supposed to be the starter in 2011 back on track for getting his starting job back.

To try and blame Miles for not giving the THIRD STRING QB more reps is kinda weird, and very silly.

People complained, but if we are all honest people are going to complain on this board regardless of what happened.

Would have been nice to see him in the NCG though, at least the second half

“ gets more than 11 passing attempts “

Not when you have two Sr QBs having like 275 attempts between them.

Mett was actually the third string quarterback in 2011. Complaining that their third string quarterback didn’t get enough playing time is just looking for something to complain bout. Third string quarterback‘s hardly ever even see the field much less get significant reps in game action.
