Buttigieg says this as the last of the WWII generation are slowly dying. Comments like this are literally trying to forget the generation that unequivocally sacrificed the most for both America and the world.
So I will just say very clearly and without hesitation:

Not only this, but the WW2 Generation is the last generation in this country that knows what REAL poverty looks like.
