LSU basketball is taking a trip over the Atlantic for a preseason tour, according to a report from Stadium's Jeff Goodman on Monday. College basketball teams are able to take trips outside the country once every four years and head coach Will Wade and his Tigers are heading to Spain from Aug. 12-22, according to the report on Twitter.
Hell yeah baws. Good for them.

Still get nightmares about that australia tour and how good Simmons looked and how excited I was
Should be a great experience for the team though.

I've been waiting for this announcement, very cool for the players, and a good recruiting tool to close out this class

We should tell Kyree Walker, Trendon Watford and possibly Sy to join us in Spain. You’re right, great recruiting tool for this year.

I wonder which teams/league we will play against, I imagine it wont be Liga ACB teams like Real Madrid
Maybe level 2/level 3 teams

Anthony Randolph plays for Real Madrid. That would be awkward.

Who all is left to make this trip?

Pretty much everyone not named Tremont or Naz is expected back.

The freshmen should be able to go by then I imagine. Simmons and Blakeney made the trip back in 2015 to Australia.
So, whole team should be going:
Mays
Taylor
Cooper
Smart
Hyatt
Days
Williams
Bishop
Manning
Watford

Graves and Reese too

Is it possible for us to watch/listen via some outlet? At this point, is all we know 8/12-22 in Madrid, Valencia and Barcelona?
I am unable to locate schedule (specific dates/times) online, but realize it may be the nature of the beast.

Good idea. I thought about that but did not see anything listed in the listening or schedule sections.
Hopefully, an option will appear. Psyched about this season...

I don't believe that there will be an official broadcast. Wade will be implementing a new system and doesn't want to give too much away.
Mays and Smart will also be limited in minutes to 20 or less. Wade knows what they bring. Wade wants to assess new players and improvement in the other holdovers from last year.
I don't know if there would be any unofficial videos uploaded to the internet.
Kent Lowe should have some posts on the LSU site during the trip.
At least that is what I heard from Wade and have read up to now.
I would also like to watch the games, but am not holding my breath.

Yeah, I remember thinking how great it was for the team to bond and get the extra practice time together. It certainly did not work out that way and if anything probably planted the roots for the embarrassing dysfunction that ensued.
I don't think that happens this time.

That makes sense. Keep a low profile across the pond.
It would be especially interesting to watch because of Wade’s intentions to limit minutes for the Bayou Backcourt, NBA Summer League style. Eager to see Bishop, Manning and Watford in action.
