Don’t a bunch of teams do this?
I feel like our football team went somewhere recently

I'm talking about the funding side of it. Is that not the definition of a booster.
It's one thing for the university to pay for it.
Maybe they donate it to Michigan athletics and it is above NCAA board. I would guess they've vetted that.
Basketball teams can play those international exhibitions once every four years which could be similar.

Big difference in taking the guys to Frankie’s and Red Lobster on a Friday night and flying them across the world for a couple of weeks vacation that an alumni pays for.
The Big Ten has all but gotten away with murder the last few years between child molesters/rapists away from the field of play to paying players to making a mockery of transfers, to allowing boosters to bribe players with vacations. If any SEC program had one instance of any of those events going down at their school, ESPN and other national pundits would crawl up their arse.
Conference of Legends and Leaders indeed.
