Idk. They were still in a very good position till they went north
The Lannister scored some wins and like I said, any lead they may have had Dany erased when she burnt their army and the Dothraki fricked them on the way back from Highgarden.

Yea they were in a good position until they had to fight the NK. I think Tyrion was correct there. His strategy that she doesn't want to be seen as a war tyrant was working for the most part. Then Jon showed up and shite hit the fan.
This season though Tyrion has definitely been oddly mistake prone.
