The Bham suburbs are great. However, more and more 25-35 year olds are moving back into the city limits. A lot of people are moving into lofts/condos/apartments in midtown or Highland Park area, and houses in the Crestwood or Avondale area. Birmingham is super convenient if you live in the Bham city limits, Mtn Brook, Homewood, Vestavia, and parts of Hoover. Doesn’t take any time to get anywhere. Now living down 280 is a different story but that’s not really Birmingham.

everyone bitches about 280 traffic - I live off 280 at Brook Highland, and I can get anywhere I want to go without actually driving on 280 at all. just have to learn to navigate int he city - once you do, it makes life a lot easier.
