My wife and I are traveling to Buffalo for a wedding in a couple of weeks. We'll arrive Thursday and return Monday.
What are the can't-miss eating/drinking spots in Buffalo? I'd like to grab some wings at some point but I've heard that's sort of an overrated thing to do.
Also interested in things to see/do in the area. Wife wants to go to Niagara but I'm pretty indifferent to that.

Niagara is pretty impressive even if you don't go to the Canada side
Not much to do in Buffalo

If you specifically want wings you can go to Gabriel's Gate or Bar BIll. GG is right in the city where Bar Bill is 20 minutes or so south of town. Don't go to Anchor Bar.
Elmwood and Hertel are the trendiest parts of town with great restaurants and bars. You could pick one of those streets to just walk around and explore. Allentown is the heavy drinking spot and is usually a drunk mess on weekends with bars open until 4am. Allen Burger Venture is an awesome restaurant in that part of town.
Niagara is a tourist trap. It's pretty but heavily commercialized and overrun with clueless tourists. You could drive up and spend some time looking at it but be prepared to be underwhelmed.
Hopefully the weather should be pretty nice when you arrive. It's been a long winter and we've still been floundering in the 40s/low 50s lately.
If you're looking for something to do and have a car I'd recommend Letchworth State Park. It's an hour away and features some great hikes and scenic waterfalls. It's called the, "Grand Canyon of the East." You could do that and hit Bar Bill on the way back.

I had no idea there was another Buffalo area resident on here??? Nice! Downtown or surrounding area?
OP, all of Jabroni's suggestions are good. Gabe's gate for wings. Niagara Falls downtown sucks but if you want you can park for free on US side in the state park, walk over to canadian sides via bridge (bring passport), see falls from canadian side, and walk back.
Theres a lot of spring events usually but it's still in the 30s-60s right now
I'll update when I'm back at home. What weekend are you coming up? Big golf fan?

If you see a guy walking around the area with LSU or syracuse stuff, it's likely me. I'll suggest a meetup once a, it's nicer out and b, i'm no longer infected with a swollen adam's apple. You golf?

Surprised we haven't bumped into each other as I've been out with my LSU stuff walking my dog. I'll have to grab you a beer at Essex at some point. And I do golf, 18 sounds like fun.

Buffalo, like a lot of Rust Belt cities, is working to find a new identity. Classic architecture, ethnic neighborhoods and some decent, blue collar food (beef on a weck, Ted”s). Niagara Falls is a must see if you haven’t seen it. Yes, the Canadian side is better than the American side and yes, it is touristy. You’re visiting, not moving there.
Also, check out Niagara- on- the Lake. Quaint town in Ontario, with more high end food, etc. You can also visit the vineyards where they make ice wine, if that’s your thing.

Buffalo Bison's AAA baseball
Buffalo Zoo
Niagara Falls early morning before crowds come. Much better than I thought
For a change of scenery, you could check out the following towns outside Buffalo:
Grand Island - get wings at Village Inn, custard at Adrian's, ride along the exterior of the island along the Niagara River.
East Aurora - shopping, breweries, Bar Bill for wings
Stony Brooke State Park- hiking
