McMahon had a simple idea that goes all the way back to theater in ancient Greece. Identify something in life that people hate. Then create a personae to represent it in the form of a wrestler. Then the crowd lives vicariously through seeing the hated target get pummeled.
IE: People hate taxes.
Create IRS the wrestler who threatens to audit everyone in the audience.
Then have IRS get smashed.
