I’m looking at a 19ft pontoon boat with a 50hp 4 stroke Yamaha. Is this enough engine for the boat? I’m not looking to pull a tube or skis but
You need to ask yourself what you are really going to be doing with this boat.
If you're comfortable not pulling and not going fast, and I would also add, are only going to use this boat on a lake or something then you'll be fine.
If you're planning on running up and down the rivers I'd get something bigger. Some other guys posted about speed and stuff so take that for what it's worth.
I've got a 21' toon with a 90 that runs 20-22 with the family aboard. As stated, more people and it goes much slower.
I def wish I had sprung for the next size up with a 150. But then I'd be wishing for a tri-toon with a 225.
Honestly, a 19 foot with a 50 is a slow slow ride. But a nice platform to cruise and fish at a leisurely pace.
