If you limit scholarships/athlete totals then how is that fair to the freshmen who are suddenly cut from a team and left trying to find a last minute place to go? You just can’t.

The NCAA could grant waivers on scholarship limits to accommodate any athletes who would have ordinarily completed their careers. No reason to cut any incoming freshmen. This won't be as large an issue as everyone seems to believe as not every senior will take advantage of the opportunity.

I feel so bad for all of the athletes. To have your season end so abruptly is quite unfathomable. Edney won’t get the chance to defend for vault title, which saddens me so much. Just seems so unfair.

With that being said, this has been a very challenging season for LSU. I cannot remember a season where they’ve suffered so many injuries. And with Edney being injured again and Edwards most likely not being able to return this season, I find it hard for LSU to make up the difference on the other three events. It was really hard to see this team advancing past regionals. Of course a lot of that depended on matchups. And I know this is mean to say, but I’d rather not see OU or Florida hoist up another championship after all the injuries LSU has had. I don’t know. It’s been a tough season and I just want to see a all the athletes get healthy for next year.

But it will benefit those with the bigger senior teams. They will have more athletes, thus more depth. If this happens I won’t be mad, because I do feel for the athletes. But mark my words, we will see who has benefited from this the most and it will those with large senior classes.
