I get all that, but nothing South of I10 didn’t get anything more than just a normal spring shower today yet they had every school and government office closed.

No. It wasn't. At least from official sources it wasn't.

1 am, had 5% chance of any tornado within 25 miles of a location in SELa. No hatch to indicate any risk of EF2+. Didn't change through the day.
