That hole was playing absurdly long for the last couple groups because of the wind.

They interviewed Finau today

He said he was aiming for the middle of the green. But the wind was coming out the left the last 30 minutes which makes that hole almost impossible. He said he pushed his ball maybe only a foot, but with the wind out of the left in took off and went in the water

There is a reason 4/6 last golfers to play that hole went into the water. Thats 4 of the best/hottest golfers in the entire world at the time. That wind at the end made it almost unplayable

Geoff Ogilvy stated it really well on the fried egg podcast. Said that even if you aim in between the bunkers, if you push it at all with a certain wind that ball is going to end up in the water. If you aim a hair left of the pin and pull it you’ll be fine.

It’s a really hard golf shot.
