I really don't mind that much if parents buy their kids' way into these universities.

More money to the university equals better facilities, professors, equipment, etc. and allows for more student capacity.

I say that these bribes actually helped other students get into a university that would normally not have had the capacity to facilitate them, and also gave them a better education than they otherwise would have.

They do say this one actually isn’t illegal because a fake charity wasn’t involved.

You haven't paid attention to the "product" these schools are turning out. Nothing has improved as far facilities and especially so-called educators. These are indoctrination centers that are taking in bribes.
