Hey guys, I’ll be taking my 87 year old grandpa out this Wednesday for what might be our last fishing trip together. I primarily target redfish by sight fishing and haven’t went after specs in a while. He enjoys live bait under popping corks or tight line and I usually am a casting plastics and and trolling banks. I really don’t care if it’s reds or specs all that much but I would like to get him on some fish the way he likes to fish. Between work and kids ball I haven’t been out in a while. I usually would take him out to the rigolets but I’m thinking it’s to dirty with the spillway situation. If anyone is willing to point me in the right direction I would appreciate it a ton. I can launch at chef pass, rigolets or pearlington. I can’t get to far from slidell Incase he has to come back in for any reason. I know how alot of us are about spots so please email me if you would rather not post.

Thanks guys

I know it's a bit outside the range you wanted but a limit of reds is pretty easy to pick up on live bait in Hopedale right now. Just pick a windblown bank and go to town. Maybe someone else can get you on a spot a little closer, and hope your granddad gets to tear them up.

Wish you were closer, you buy bait I would catch anything else. Take plenty pictures for the future.

No advice to offer, but just wanted to say that you're an awesome grandson.
