Beach House was nice. Bar Acuda and Kauai Grill(e?) are both nice spots up on the north shore of Kauai. KG is in a hotel but has great views. These are better "date night" type spots at least.

Depending on what kind of spots your looking for, some other things worth looking into:

Puka Dog Hotdogs and Koloa Fish Market... not fancy, but cool spots. Puka was on Bourdain's No Reservations IIRC... KFM is a great place to get poke...

It's been a little while since I was there, but these were things that stood out.

There was a little brewery that I went to, but don't remember name, but I think they had a sausage from Puka on the menu and some decent beers...

Cool, thanks for the suggestions. I love a good dog and we both planned on eating a lot of good raw fish especially for lunch. I will take you up on the poke at KFM.
I have dinner at the Beach House reserved for another night but was hoping to find something special for this night.

JO2 restaurant in Kapa'a was amazing. It's a tiny seafood place in a strip mall off the main road. One of the best seafood meals I've had in my life and for a reasonable price, especially when you consider that it's Hawaii. It's a 30-45 minute drive from Poipu, though, but I think it's worth it.

Pizzetta had a good pizza in Koloa Old Town not too far from there.

I stayed at the Grand Hyatt so ate there at Tidepools and Dondero's as well.
