I love boiled crawfish as much as the next guy, but at the price they are charging by the sack, it is much more economical to just buy shrimp and boil them.
Most estimates call for about 5 lbs. of crawfish per person for a nice boil, but with shrimp, you only need about 1.5 lbs. per person, and they don't have to be live when they are boiled, so they are easier all around. You could easily feed 30 people with 50 lbs. of shrimp, whereas crawfish would need to be in the 150 lb. range.
Just go buy some fresh shrimp and boil them at your leisure.
