I have a house on Toledo Bend.

Over the years I ran 3 champions all been in the fiberglass shop. 2 Progators which held up well. Every time I turned around my boats were in the shop.

Just got tired of cost of repairs and bought a nicer Aluminum boat a few years ago. Rides ok in light chop.

Yes, you do give up s comfortable ride.
Those days of riding across across Toledo Bend on a windy day or over.
My friend taught me this idea.
Drive to the cove you want to fish and launch in that area.

Tournament guy I would go fiberglass as you may want to get soaked crossing the lake to fish your honey hole. Toledo Bend can go from a hot chick with makeup on to oh cr$p this things ugly with make up off quickly.

Weekend or weekday warrior aluminum boat.
If the lakes too choppy I go back to the camp drink some beer and enjoy my view of the lake.
