Because it keeps highly concentrated population centers from being the dominant voice of very large areas outside of those population centers. Surely you don't think people in Manhattan have the same attitude or beliefs as someone in Des Moines, right?

Listen I agree they Have different values
But why should we tip the scale in favor of less people?
Why should we over value anyone’s values?
Yes we need farmers. I am Pretty sure everyone knows that.
We probably would legislate them out of existence if we let the “majority” decide
And there are many other ways smaller sections of American society are represented.
Like the House. Also all States have farms. Most senators are not anti-farmers.
I understand The arguement just why is it better?
