What is the value to LSU of suspending Wade and Smart at this point in the season?

This is what I’m so confused about. If we suspend them now, the penalties will be the same, the wins will be vacated, and we won’t win anything in the post season once we get there.
If we didn’t suspend them, the penalties would be the same and the wins would be vacated.
