that rings a bell, my Dad always carried a minimum of a $1000 in his wallet(he didn't tell me this, I was nosy ) way before atm days(60s-early 70s,) he grew up dirt poor but ended up doing pretty good, was a very generous man and helped people all of his life, even people that tried to take advantage of him, he's been gone for a long time but I still hear from someone, every once in a while, how much that hundred bucks helped them or their family out when they needed it badly
