I'm against that and I support it being fixed, and I'm spending my money and my time.
I can respect this...

I also think the gov't should have set prices on what they pay for certain goods.
This is bullshite and Medicare is not really a good example to use for price controls and one could argue that Medicare price controls are part of the reason medical pricing is as fricked up as it is...

Yet a grocery store in a low income area often has insanely high prices. Why?
Transportation costs, lower volume buying, higher crime rate, etc are also reasons the prices are higher...

I'm for doing away with this shite and having food trucks go around and give out staples, fruits, veggies etc.
Ever heard of the commodity program? We had it, but it still had plenty of fraud, waste, and abuse...

So not only does our system waste money
Yep, with programs like the free and reduced lunch, especially when benefits are not reduced AND in many locales they even feed lunch during the summer, so basically year round double payment for the same child...

Agree from a capitalistic standpoint. And without the higher prices, there'd be no stores in the hood. But if I am subject to it and can make it work, they can as well.

To a degree, but not to the degree that I see here locally. Especially when the store is in low crime area and did well before the current owners (that purchased it with free gov't money cause they ME immigrants) jacked up the price even more. Even though they essentially got it for free. It's ridiculous. Many other examples abound. FYI-I'm against price controls but since they apply to my profession I don't give two shits if more feel the pain. Maybe then the impact would smack people in the face hard enough for them to realize it's bad.
