Use something organic because its cheaper and better in the long run. For example Milorganite . Its slow release which means it takes a couple weeks or less to green up but it feeds the roots deeper and helps then penetrate further into the soil. (1 of many benefits) Give it a try, you can put as much of it as you want down and not have to worry about burning the grass.
