What is a good area in Austin to stay during the trip Tigers trip to Austin in September? Looking to go up there for the game and looking for advice on areas to get a hotel.

Check the travel board. there's a ton of nice hotels over there that aren't too expensive

Good luck getting anything less than 300 or more downtown.

La Quinta on 11th st is walking distance as is the Sheraton on 11th (probably already booked up) and Hotel Indigo on Red River. Tons of other hotels downtown that are a little bit of a longer walk but very doable. The Fairmont opened recently on Red River and is very nice and probably expensive.

What kind of price point are you comfortable with?

I'd also look into the air B & B in the downtown area. All depends on how many are staying but if its a decent group say 7-10 splitting cost is nice for a weekend stay. We stayed a weekend in November and 7 of us paid less then a $100/person for the weekend.

tough trip...
3.5 going, 3.5 game, 3.5 return,
not to mention the possible beers in between.
be careful

You’re going to have to stay downtown if you want to walk to the game, there are a lot of nice hotels around if you can drive. My parents always stay at the Best Western off of I-35 and Oltorf when they come to visit and it’s usually about $200 a night. I highly recommend that hotel if they aren’t already booked, the breakfast is very good and the rooms are clean.
Austin has a lot of hotels so you shouldn’t have too much trouble finding something reasonable

I would look at the Van Zandt, Westin, Omni,JW Marriott and Driscoll.
