It’s only 21.5 Billion dollars of debt. What breakdown is needed? Hell, Cali wasted 77B on a railway that will never be.

Or am I showing how dumb I am?

I would think most of that is to mutual funds of one sort or another.

Banks and and money market dealers hold a big portion, especially of newer issues.

And individuals. You could go down to the FRB and make a non-competitive bid for a new debt issue. Give them cash for at least $10,000 and you can get a TBill, Note or Bond.

Lots of commodities margin is made up of treasuries.
