Overlooked - Kentucky Player Slapped the Backboard

Therefore, defensive interference before the offensive interference call. It probably was offensive goal tending, but it shouldn't matter after the Kentucky player jarred the goal.

A few things. Kentucky had interference first. Secondly, it wasn’t even offensive goaltending. Ball was clearly outside the rim and going that way. He got it off with .4 or so. I really don’t think it was an offensive goaltending in the first place, but they interfered before that even happened.

Yep, shook the backboard and the other player tugged on the rim.

Jarred the goal hell.he had his hand in the net!! That is Interference! Period!!

I believe the rule states the defensive player cannot vibrate the rim, which he clearly did in the replay. So really Mays' shot should have been good.

I think it was. Watch the link. It's hard to tell, but seems like the ball is over the cylinder while he slaps the boards.

That clip is definitive. UK interfered with the shot causing goal movement.

It's close for sure.

I think this pic (from that same twitter link) shows it would have been difficult to call as offensive interference...

You both are correct. Slapping the rim can only result in a technical foul if it does not vibrate the rim as you indicate.

Do you think the goal came to an exact stop before the ball was at the rim? Answer is no
