One of the best scenes in a movie full of great scenes. It shows Smiley's cutthroatness and ability to get information, even from his own. He doesn't need a gun, in fact he only pulls one at the very end. He doesn't need car chases and explosions and torture. He Just finds someone's weakness and pushes the button, all because of information -- the utmost valued commodity in his line of work. He's the ultimate spy in a war with no shots fired.
