While I think the movie is a terrible adaptation of the book, I got a real kick out of the OP complaining about the "SJW idiot" given the career and beliefs of the author Orson Scott Card. And yes, Ender saves the alien in the book as well.

Too bad the sequels are too philosophical to make good movies.
