Some have started to try and bring back the newspapers during opposing team intro. That’s great, but you have to do it correctly.

Sit down, stomp your feet, wave the paper in front of your face and yell “SUCKS” after each player is called. Then after they’re done, crumple the paper into a ball, stand up and throw the paper as far as you can onto the court (Wrap a hotdog wrapper around the paper, and you’ll make it to the court for sure). Now, it’s time to stand the entire game and make relentless noise when the opposing team has the ball, from opening tip to final horn.

Y’all have gotten better as of late, but there’s still room for improvement. Basketball games can be more fun than football games when we’re winning. Enjoy it, and make memories with your fellow students.

But how will they do all of that, and capture it for their SnapChat story at the same time?

I noticed that they are handing the newpapers out as the starting lineups are being announced. Maybe hand them out as people enter the section or lay them put on seats.

If you compare a primetime basketball game against a ranked opponent to LSU football vs. Georgia Southern, sure.

Someone should host a seminar for them so they can learn- Basketball Student Section Best Practices.

I was in school from '04 to '08 when football was at its peak, baseball was surging and basketball (men and women) were having some of their best years.

I had more fun during that final four run in 2006 than in any other season in any other sport.

I never understood this.

The newspaper is supposed to mean you aren’t paying attention to their shitty lineup.

If you aren’t paying attention that how do you know when to yell “SUCKS”?

I feel like they either need to yell “SUCKS” OR use the newspapers and not pay attention.

Doing both is contradictory and retarded.

Edit: another option is to do something that every other student section hasn’t done a million times before. I’m not that creative so I don’t have any ideas of what that might be but originality is much better than being a copy cat.

Have you not been to like any games? They've been doing that.

I am a former season ticket holder and I approve of this message. It wasn’t even that long ago that fans used to do that. It’s surpisingly how quickly “traditions” can come and go.

Live in Dallas now.
