Best meal I had last time was a sunset dinner at ULU at the four seasons. Your wife will love you for it. Make reservations.
-Green Sand Beach- bring cash and pay the locals to take you to it. It will be a bumpy ride.
-Black Sand Beach and Volcanoes you can do in the same day. Hit up Punalu’u Bakery on the way.
-Mauna Kea at sunset was the favorite thing we did last time. You can go to the summit if you have a Jeep. You have to stop at the visitor center for 30 minutes first, and there’s a place close to the center to watch the sunset if you don’t want to go to the summit. The center offers telescope use for free certain nights and it’s awesome. It can get a chilly up there. Ate at the Big Island Brewhaus after that. Great day.
-Kona Brewery good food and beer.
-Our first trip the favorite thing was Pololu Valley. We hiked down and watched surfing.
-We mostly went to Beach 69 and the beach across the highway from the veterans cemetery.
-Bring water and snacks in the car when you’re going places as the drives can be long. -Also bring tennis shoes if you’re adventuring sandals might not work.
-I found that the cheapest gas was between kona brewery/target and the airport on the highway. If you’re going far, fill up.
-Don’t forget to relax. Aloha!
