Will Williams sign with Alabama? He is scheduled to announce his final decision Wednesday morning and he is not expected to ink with the Crimson Tide. Will it be LSU? He has visited Baton Rouge a few times over the last few months, including an official visit over the weekend.
Despite being committed to Alabama, he did not take an official visit to Tuscaloosa, so it appears he will leave the state to play college football.

The graph in his profile shows he was the 95th rated player around September. It was a steady rise until his commit and a steep increase after he committed to Bama. It has been a very steep decline since his highest rating. Must have gotten out that he wouldn't sign with Bama.

Too late, man...Williams was a high 96-something just a couple of months ago...then he failed to sign with bama, and now he's like 3+ points lower.
It's worth mentioning that this same thing happened with Hampton...he was rated even higher than Williams was several months back...now they're both around 93-something.

As he should be if Bama decided they didn't want him. Now, if LSU simply beat out Bama he should probably rise in the rankings. You really can't blame the recruiting services for guessing that Bama, the team who almost always gets who they want, told him to move on.

Yeah, the hell with a recruiting site doing actual player evaluations.
Every recruit in the nation should just be rated based on the interest they get from Bama.

I know this is sarcasm.
It is worth saying that, assuming bama commits get bumps based on saban knowing who all the best players are, as Rivals said years ago, LSU safety commits should also get bumped for this same reason. LSU has had the best safety play in the country for the majority of the last 8 years or so.

And, realistically, our CB play has been almost this good. Heck, we've had great Mike backers since I don't know when (probably Dunston, and before that pre-Bradie James).
For that matter, our RBs and WRs should get Bama treatment. We put 2 guys in the same draft, at the same position, that are arguably Top 5 or Top 8 at their positions since.

player rankings matter now?
what about all those 3 stars who played in the Super Bowl last night?
or all those 3 stars who played for LSU who went on to have NFL careers? while 5 stars never finished their college career.
what about all those times Alabama was the #1 recruiting class and then won a nationa....oh wait no thats the wrong talking point.

On a team's recruiting board they seem to be very important.
I like go by a player's offers and the LSU coaches who have seen the players in camp more than the recruiting site's rankings.

so then the fact that LSUs class is ranked much higher than last year's class, it is like a market correction? Since the rankings don't really matter you can't bash him for getting a class ranked 15th, or give him credit for landing a class that ranks 3rd.
am I understanding you right?

You are an obvious alter. You have been a member for less than two weeks asking questions about stuff I said last year.

The only standard that counts is performance on the field. For example Dabo Sweeney hasn’t had a class ranked higher than 7th in the last five years. In two of those five he wasn’t in the top 10. Over that same period he went to the College Football Championship Game three times winning two.

no, you aren't. I have no idea what you are talking about. I am not referring to anything you said.
you seem a little cuckoo for cocoa puffs my man. I can see why people avoid engaging you in discussion.

Dabo's classes have all been smaller.
2014: 20
2015: 26
2016: 21
2017: 14
2018: 17
2019: 26
I'm not sure what they are adding Wednesday to their current class, but thats an average of 21 commits a year.

The word down here is he's going to LSU. Don't quite know what happened with Alabama, but apparently things have fallen apart. He has the ability to be a great player and would be a great catch if we can get him!
