pretty incredible how Bundy got caught the final time in Florida.

He was completely out of control. At that point it was a matter of time. He was a conman right up to the end, trying to get evangelical radio host James Dobson to go to bat for him by blaming porn, which was just what Dobson wanted to hear.
One of my buddies is a retired criminal investigator for the local sheriff's office. He's interviewed a couple. One was Henry Lee Lucas, who killed one or two people but was mostly a fraud. He confessed to dozens of murders just for the notoriety. The other was a guy named Brown (I think that's the name) who killed 7 or 8 people in Louisiana and elsewhere. He was arrested in Colorado for something unrelated and started confessing to murders and where to find the bodies. Some of them hadn't even been reported missing. Runaways, transients, etc.
