quote:that's a great story (that your boy learned a life lesson the easy way)
My son got his license August of '16. New Years Eve '16 I made him stay home instead of going out because of bad weather and chance of potential for snow/ice/sleet. He was PISSED. The next day, he found out one of his buddies and his gf slid off the road and hit a culvert and hurt them pretty good. He was appreciative after the fact. Stay strong brother...it'll pay off.
my girl turned 16 right before Thanksgiving and was incensed that I did not let her go to the Galleria in Hoover, AL on Black Friday
Apparently I had ruined her life (true story, just like Belle said)
that night, while my daughter was home PISSED at me, a couple of kids got shot at the Galleria
I'm cool with being an unreasonable a-hole...

Our jobs are to be heroes until the change hits, then tyrants. If they can keep their head and their decency until the hormones stop raging, and you teach them well, at some point they have to mature enough for you to set them loose.
They’ll make their own choices at that point whether you like them or not.
All you can do then is be there if they stumble and let them know they’ll always be your little girl and hope for the best.
