I'm not exactly sure - I can get in on that action at 5 as long as its a real story in the set of 5 with a real stopping point and all.
Some of the "sectional" series people put out don't really have satisfying conclusions at the end of their sections if you know what I mean.
ETA: Sanderson has noted that it is essentially a reset with the second 5 starting a new arc which ties strongly into the first arc.
It really is incredible to watch the evolution of the genre as young authors come in with new ideas for set and setting as well as story structure after seeing what did and did not work for the authors that came before them.

I saw that either Sanderson himself mentioned or someone posted that there will be 4 eras of mistborn books. With wax and Wayne wrapping up era 2. The 3rd is suppose to be set in the early computer age and 4th more set in space
