First of all, that’s not true. His FG% was lower in 2013 and 2016. It was the exact same as this year in 2015 and 2017. In fact, the only years it was *slightly* higher was 2014 and 2018.

Secondly, you are ignorant about basketball statistics. The reason why his FG% isn’t higher is because he has increased the percentage of his field goals that are 3-pointers. 3-pointers by nature are a lower-percentage shot. So the fact that he has a similar FG% as in the past while increasing his distribution of 3-pointers relative to 2-pointers, shows he’s being more efficient. But his eFG% is the highest of his career, and his TS% is the highest of his career.
