I’m never concerned how much people like me, I’m concerned with getting things done and creating change. Some might find it shocking Council members Trae Welch and Tara Wicker agreed with me.

Wednesday night I went to stand with the seniors of Baton Rouge, to defend the tax that voters approved in 2016. In defending the Council on Aging, I acknowledged the merit that we should NOT allow taxing agencies to pile up money in surplus and not use it for the good of the community, while consistently coming to tax payers for increase in taxes. The COA can’t do this because their contract doesn’t allow them to have a surplus greater than $800k, they must use the money they generate. The library system however has tens of millions in their accounts in surplus that could be used to benefit other areas of our parish.

We have to present solutions. People might criticize my approach, but I challenge you to listen to my ideas. For every problem I address, I always attempt to present a solution. Our progress will come from standing in our truth and presenting ideas that create impact. #LetsBuild #KeepPushing

Ten of millions in surplus?

Sounds like BRPD found the source of their pay raise.

I wonder how he feels about the voters approving of Trump in 2016. I guess votes only matter when it gives him a lifetime supply of church's chicken every Sunday.
