Yeah, nothing to miss there, Jordan had a pretty awful run with Winters Heart and COT. WH was basically COT with an awesome last 100 pages, both books were 95% worthless.

It's funny, I went to a comic con either the summer after COT came out or the one after, and sat in on a writers panel that Jordan and 4-5 other others were doing. Jordan was unironically talking about how other authors could lose their way, start taking way longer for books, and not move the plot during the books they did write, basically talking about himself at the time without even realizing it. He was also a total boor during the panel and talked over the other authors constantly.

That experience plus the terribleness of COT and WH really put me off him as an author. He would have gotten eaten alive during today's online climate.

On the flip side Jim Butcher was on the same panel and came off as a legit nice and cool guy, which made me check out his Dresden Files later on when I saw them in the bookstore, so it was an overall win.

Actually doing the series for the first time. Done Song of Ice and Fire and Dark Tower. Tried Malazahn book of the fallen and couldn’t get into it, tried like 4 books too. Liking this series for the most part tho there is a bit of over description at times. I’m on Lord of Chaos now glad Rand finally got some not too long ago. .
