Indian Country Today has details on the elder in that viral video.

His name is Nathan Phillips, a Vietnam veteran who holds a regular ceremony for Native American veterans buried at Arlington National Cemetery. https://newsmaven.io/indiancountrytoday/news/outrage-as-non-native-youth-wearing-maga-hats-taunt-and-disrespect-native-elder-jy7UVwdg8kK2uvT0L-JOig/ …

Now, Indian Country Today is going all the way back to 2008 to correct an article in which Phillips described how he was spit on when he returned home from Vietnam.

quote:

This article has been adjusted from it’s original version to show that Nathan Phillips was a Vietnam-era veteran and that he was spit on while in uniform as opposed to when he was returning from combat.

Was he spit on while in the brig or while being court martialed?

Interesting. So he regularly holds ceremonies to honor dead NA vets, but he leads a group 20 people who attempted to intentionally disrupt another ceremony (Mass) at the national shrine. Seems very hypocritical of Chief Spreading Bull

That Recon Ranger Marine has been misquoted a lot of times.

Why do these reporters continue to oppress Indians in uniform?

Dude is pretty impressive...

In less than 4 years of military service he managed to become Force Recon, go to Ranger Training, and learn to repair refrigerators while being AWOL twice...

Dude really knows how to manage his time well.

Let's see the DD-214...that's what separates a real veteran from a "stolen valor Bitch". And has Pocahontas weighed in on any of this crap..seems like she should be embracing her redskin brother.

Someone on Twitter also posted an interview with Phillips in Jan of 2018 where he states at least three times he went to Vietnam.

Yet there were the Progs yesterday here defending the lies, saying he never said that.

Phillips is clearly mentally ill. He fits right in.
