Per Wiki, a public individual (celebrity, politician, etc) can’t sue for incorrect information unless it is shown that the outlet knew it was false or showed a reckless disregard for the truth.
Given that Buzzfeed didn’t see the evidence supporting their accusations, that may meet the standard for “reckless disregard for the truth.”

I’m Hearing a rumor Trump had the fake story made up and leaked on purpose to catch the last traitor posing as a Trump team member. Just a rumor, but makes sense if true.
I feel foolish posting a rumor in a thread about a fake rumor, but these days it’s good to keep an open mind. & Our great POTUS has used this tactic before.....
