5-5*?

I'll allow it.

Just wish we had more OT on the board.

Only recruiting miss I hate this year is losing Kenyon Green. Was once committed and slipped through. Otherwise solid.

Parker seems like a must right now.

Hopefully Palmer gets to impress at the polynesian bowl this week. 247 has been severely underrating him.

Soeaking if Palmer he told 247 reporters he was going all in on Sopsher while there.

Not bad. Currently at four 5-stars. Only team with that many or more is Georgia with five.

3rd nationally in average player ranking with a long snapper and kicker dragging it way down.

Not.Too.Shabby.

ETA:

If you take out the LS and K and add Sopsher, our average player score is 0.9282, so still 3rd overall.

If we add both Sopshers and Lee, we are at 295.44 and in 3rd place.

We'll see what happens.

I assume he's including Ish hence the question mark. I'm not sure Kardell and Ish survive 247s last update with 5-stars.

Still a really good class.

If LSU has the finish that they envision to this class then you will have five consensus five star prospects and at least one other kid in Trey Palmer that is rated as a five star talent on at least one major recruiting service but isn't ranked high enough by them all to make it on the composite list of five stars.

Beyond that if any signing day surprises happen in our favor that would see another guy with that high a ranking flip, then you might see up to 7 or 8 guys with the five star rating.

And I realize that much more is put on to the star rating system in terms of it's true accuracy when it comes to players, due to the big misses that have occurred in either way, where a big time guy never makes the field or a three star kid no one heard of before ends up being a top round draft pick...but this isnt the point here...Were talking composite five star kids and maybe another that is ranked that high on some service as well...and the fact is that when it comes to those most elite of players that are ranked by every major writer and scout as a can't miss prospect that has a low chance of even needing more than a single season to be college ready at a high level...these guys are not going to miss...these guys are day one contributers and at best end up starting as true freshmen. And we could end up with 6+ by signing day...Take it how you want but this is a big deal...

Trey Palmer is a 5* on Rivals, so I'm pretty sure that's why he said 5 5*s. (Emery, Stingley, Kardell, Brooks, and Palmer)

Emery isn't a 5-star on Rivals.

I agree 100% as KG was a huge miss for this year's OL. Green was very close to OL Coach Jeff Grimes which is why he originally committed to LSU. Once Grimes took the OC job at BYU, Green decommitted within days. LSU had 1 year to change the kid's mind but he bought whatever Jimbo was selling him.

247 has not done their personal final ranking and unfortunately I dont see Kardell or Sopsher making the final 5 star group.

I think when it's all said and done LSU will have 3 composite 5 star players in Stingley, Emery, and Brooks. Kardell and Sopsher should be somewhere in the 35 to 55 range.

** Palmer would have to have a phenomenal week at the Poly bowl and have the 247 guys wowed for him to be anywhere close to a 5 in the composite.
