compared to central Texas or the deep South, yes the land is pretty crappy. But the value per acre (or section) is comparably lower. I’ve never actually run the numbers, but I suspect the number of head per dollar of land value ends up being about the same. Otherwise, ranchers in West Texas could not compete with ranchers in East Texas on price, etc.

Again, I’m not anywhere near a Calculator, paper or anything else, so these numbers are entirely hypothetical. But if the cost to run one cow on goo land in East Central Texas is one cow per $7500 worth of land, that might only be an acre and a half or 2 acres. In far west Texas, that might be a quarter or half a section, but the value of the land is so much lower that it evens out per head

I fully understand that... I am asking what the shitty land is worth per acre... if I wanted to buy two sections of that land today, how much?
