I'm not sure the North Rim is even open right now. The visitor's center usually closed in the winter up until May. It is much more primitive than the south rim. IMO, it is best experienced from a tent or hammock, but renting an RV (CruiseAmerica is in Mesa, AZ) is pretty great, too.
I do think there is a lodge on the north Rim, but that's pretty much it for civilized accomodations.
