Sorry just getting back home. So, we got started a little late. Got there about 9 am. Ran or trolled to Leary lake cause the old man caught fish there before. Water was very muddy there so we put putted back and ran down what ever the main bayou is going out of Sweetwater into the marsh. We had success around a big oil rig 10/15 pilings in the middle of a bayou. Y’all will probably know where I’m talking about. Anyways the water was very very low, we fished points of the main bayous. Caught 6 bass and 4 reds all perfect eating size. Soft plastics with a piece of dead shrimp threaded on the hook, kinda helps it go “weedless”. It was fun and we learned a lot. If the water was up we probably would of had more success. I’ve seen people hammer fish in the middle of canals, but that’s way outside of my comfort zone. I’ll give up on it too easy and go back to looking for structures and points.
