no, but it had a lot more bad/cringe than great, and the good was much more rare

In your opinion. I thought it was a great season.

season 5 is when the show really started to become more formulaic and typical (because D&D had to start creating their own GOT
Wrong. The whole story is laid out for them. Just because GRRM hasn't released the last books doesn't mean the story just stops at book 5. If that's what you consider a strong argument, you're never being my lawyer.

you have a show that has a lot more bad and a lot less great
Then quit watching it. Instead of being a debate troll trying to argue people into not liking it (you must think quite highly of yourself), just step off.

I look forward to the melts when the show ends and every sandy, pissy little butthole loses his shite because the story didn't end the exact, precise way they wanted it to.

the utter stupidity required to accept Dorne after season 5 is unimagineable
Calm down, drama queer.

one of the final vestiges of GRRM that D/D had to include
No, again, there are quite a few vestiges. And claiming that it's only good because the other parts are bad is just a bullshite lawyer's argument, and a weak one at that.

You are the least intelligent poster in this thread. You come in here attacking other posters because they don’t agree with your shite opinion that season 5 wasn’t a bad season.
