(which you can take and then refinance for a better rate through a credit union)

Dealerships get awesome buy rates. The op might could use the rate to get the last bit out of the dealer.

I'll go a little over 50k if you can get my rate to x%. This would let them dig into reserve a little bit for some extra guaranteed money in the front.

I could tell you how to get the best deal on a vehicle, but you'd have to not give a frick about your payment, whether bc you're refinancing or payment just isnt an issue.

Oh I agree, I was just saying if it were me I'd see how far they could push that rate while still trying to get that extra $500 from financing through Ford credit then check after the sale to see if there are other rates out there he might be able to take advantage of if he felt the need to refinance.

As for the other part, I'm thinking we have a similar opinion on how to get a really good deal and not giving a shite about the payment...but I only do that on my personal vehicles and usually dont recommend for others, lol.

OP...aim to get that bed cover you were speaking of. If you told then you'd come in ASAP and make a deal, I guarantee they'll be more inclined to put one on there. Just have them email a confirmation of that and the pricing numbers 1st before you drive over there (if you can get it signed by the finance manager, even better). If they pull some dumb shite when you show up, kindly let them know you will blast them on social media and have email evidence to back up your claims. I have done this...and it is a sight to behold lmao.
