In North MS, Nashville, Atlanta, and St. Louis (when Rams were there) are closer than NOLA.
Saints have only been relevant the last 10 years or so. So, if you are from MS and over the age of 20 or so, you had no reason to pull for Saints. Most of the state is only worried about Ole Miss and MS State, no matter how bad they suck

I lived in Natchez for 3 years and I found that area to be evenly split 1/3 each for LSU(closest major university to Natchez), Ole Miss, and State. With speckles of USM fans.
They also refer to USM as "Southern" which always caught my attention as I'm from Baton Rouge.
